Official Public Notices: Friday, 27 March 2026

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) and regional health authorities have issued the following official notices and service updates for Friday, 27 March 2026. Residents and commuters are advised to review these alerts to ensure minimal disruption to daily activities and to maintain public safety across the region.

Road Infrastructure & Traffic Management

Several significant road projects are reaching milestones or continuing throughout the region. Motorists should anticipate delays and follow all posted detours.

  • Perth Street, South Toowoomba: Today marks the scheduled final day of traffic disruptions on Perth Street, between Ramsay Street and Macarthur Street. Crews are completing the installation of critical stormwater pits. Motorists are urged to exercise caution as final site clearing takes place.
  • Ballin Drive, Centenary Heights: The full road closure between Mackenzie Street and Stenner Street remains in effect. This closure is necessary for large-scale water main replacement works, which are expected to continue through the remainder of March. Local resident access is maintained, but through traffic must utilize established detours.
  • Reichle Road, Yandilla: Flood recovery culvert replacement works continue on Reichle Road. The road remains closed to all traffic, with detours directed via Owen’s Scrub Road and Church Road. Completion is slated for late March, weather permitting.
  • Toowoomba Bypass: Fixed lane closures remain active on both southbound and northbound lanes of the Toowoomba Bypass between the Warrego Highway West interchange and the Gore Highway. These works are part of ongoing maintenance scheduled to conclude this month.

Public Health & Essential Services

Authorities are monitoring regional health and supply chain stability to ensure the continued delivery of essential services.

  • Fuel Supply Advisory: Toowoomba Regional Council has confirmed that all essential council services, including waste collection and emergency repairs, will continue to operate as normal. This notice follows reports of regional fuel supply volatility. The Council is working closely with state agencies to ensure no interruption to critical community functions.
  • Darling Downs Health Alert: The community is urged to remain vigilant following a confirmed case of measles in the Toowoomba region earlier this month. Residents should monitor for symptoms such as fever, cough, and a red blotchy rash. If symptoms appear, contact your GP or 13-HEALTH immediately and call ahead before visiting any clinic.

Facility Updates & Future Works

  • Clifton Library: The Clifton Library facility remains closed for essential building maintenance. Residents are encouraged to use the Council’s digital library resources or visit the nearest alternative branch until the works are finalized.
  • Upcoming Works: Major reconstruction of Clifton Road at North Branch is scheduled to commence in early April 2026. This project aims to improve safety for heavy vehicles and agricultural operators.
