Major Suburban Road Closures

A significant portion of the city’s residential road network is currently undergoing bitumen reseal works. The following streets will experience road closures between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm today, with detours in place:

• Harristown: Camden Street, Christopher Street, Devine Street (between Hampton and Anzac), McLeish Street, Miles Street, and Phyllis Street are all scheduled for maintenance today.
• South Toowoomba: Short-term closures are in effect on Denis Street, Grey Street (between Water and Ruthven), and Loudon Street.
• East Toowoomba: Resealing continues on Boyden Street, Cavell Street (between Mary and Mackenzie), and Dunmore Street.
• Perth Street: Traffic disruptions may occur between Ramsay and Macarthur Streets due to ongoing stormwater pit installations.

Residents in these areas are requested to keep road reserves clear of parked vehicles to allow the spray seal teams to operate safely. Local detours will be signed for through-traffic.

Highway and Arterial Updates

Major arteries connecting Toowoomba to the surrounding regions also face active restrictions. On the Toowoomba Bypass, fixed lane closures remain in place both northbound and southbound between the Warrego Highway West interchange at Charlton and the Gore Highway interchange at Athol. These works are active from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Additionally, the Warrego Highway (Ipswich-Toowoomba) is experiencing ongoing load restrictions and reduced speed limits near the Bremer River Bridge as rehabilitation works continue. For those heading west toward Dalby, construction crews are active along a 60km stretch of the Warrego Highway for safety improvements, including the installation of new turning lanes at Oakey.
