Public Infrastructure and Road Closure Alerts

Toowoomba Regional Council has advised of several significant traffic disruptions scheduled for Sunday, 15 February 2026. Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays.

• Bridge Street and West Street Intersection: A full road closure is in place for the Northbound and Southbound Slip Lanes at the Bridge Street and West Street intersection. This closure is required to facilitate essential intersection upgrades and is expected to remain in effect through the coming week.
• West Street Northbound: The northbound lane of West Street, between Bridge Street and Campbell Street, will remain closed throughout Sunday. Signed detours are currently operational to guide motorists around the construction zone.
• Toowoomba Bypass: Fixed lane closures continue on both southbound and northbound lanes of the Toowoomba Bypass. These restrictions apply between the Warrego Highway West interchange at Charlton and the Gore Highway interchange at Athol. Heavy vehicle operators with loads exceeding 3.5 metres in width must utilize approved detour routes.

Darling Downs Health and Queensland Health have maintained active alerts for the Toowoomba region following recent developments in community wellness and weather patterns.

• Measles Symptom Watch: Following a confirmed measles case in Toowoomba earlier this season, health authorities continue to urge residents to monitor for symptoms, including fever, cough, and a blotchy rash. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged to contact their local GP.
• Wet Weather Soil Safety: With significant rainfall of up to 38mm forecast for this Sunday, Queensland Health has issued a reminder regarding soil-borne diseases such as melioidosis. Residents are advised to wear waterproof footwear and gloves when gardening or working in muddy conditions to prevent infection through skin abrasions.

Water Restrictions and Conservation

Medium-level water restrictions remain active across the Toowoomba Regional Council area. Residents are reminded to adhere to the summer watering schedule to ensure regional water security.

• Watering Schedule: On Sunday, 15 February, residents living in even-numbered or unnumbered properties are permitted to water established gardens between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM. The use of efficient sprinklers or hand-held hoses with trigger nozzles is mandatory during these times.
