Official City Notices for Wednesday, 11 February 2026

Toowoomba Regional Council and Darling Downs Health have issued several important updates regarding infrastructure projects, public health, and utility services affecting residents today. Please review the following advisories to ensure you are informed of local disruptions and requirements.

Infrastructure and Road Disruption Notices

Commuters and residents in the Toowoomba CBD and surrounding bypass routes should be aware of ongoing works scheduled for today:

  • Campbell Street Drainage Works: A closure of the footpath and the westbound road shoulder remains in place on Campbell Street, specifically between Lindsay Street and Mary Street. These works are scheduled between 6:30 am and 3:00 pm today to facilitate essential drainage upgrades. Pedestrian detours are clearly marked.
  • Toowoomba Bypass Lane Closures: Fixed lane closures continue on both southbound and northbound lanes of the Toowoomba Bypass between the Warrego Highway West interchange (Charlton) and the Gore Highway interchange (Athol). These closures are active from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Heavy vehicle operators with load widths exceeding 4.0 meters must utilize the approved detour via Carrington Road and Taylor Street.
  • Cory Street Maintenance: Traffic disruptions may occur throughout the day on Cory Street between Taylor and Russell Streets as bluestone kerb repair works continue.

Public Health Advisory: Measles Alert

Darling Downs Health has maintained a high-priority health alert following confirmed cases of measles within the region. Residents who have visited high-traffic public areas are urged to monitor for symptoms, which include fever, tiredness, a cough, and a blotchy red rash. Health officials remind the community that vaccination remains the most effective protection. Additionally, the new Midwife Guide service is now active for maternity patients at Toowoomba Hospital who wish to discuss care concerns or seek feedback pathways.

Water Utilities and Tenders

Toowoomba Regional Council reminds residents and contractors of the following utility deadlines:

  • Yarraman Water Main Tender: The formal tender process for the Design and Construction of Yarraman Water Main Replacements (WT18-25/26) officially closes today, Wednesday, 11 February, at 2:00 pm AEST. Submissions must be finalized through the digital procurement portal.
  • Summer Water Restrictions: Current medium-level water restrictions apply. For today, Wednesday, even-numbered or unnumbered properties are permitted to use sprinklers and irrigation systems for one hour between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

Residents are reminded that a 5% discount applies to general rates if the full balance is settled by the due date of 11 March 2026.
