Public Notice: Sunday Road Maintenance, Health Advisories, and Service Updates

Official City Notice: Toowoomba Weekly Service and Health Update
Toowoomba Regional Council and Darling Downs Health provide the following public service announcements and official notices for Sunday, 8 February 2026. Residents are encouraged to review these updates to ensure compliance with local regulations and to plan for potential service disruptions.
Roadworks and Traffic Conditions
As part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure safety, several road maintenance projects remain active across the region. While major new projects are slated to begin on Monday, the following conditions apply for Sunday, 8 February:
- Reichle Road (Yandilla): A full road closure remains in place for Flood Recovery culvert replacement works. This closure is expected to continue through late March 2026. Detours are clearly marked; please follow all on-site signage.
- Olsen Road: Maintenance grading works may cause minor traffic disruptions. Motorists are advised to drive to conditions and expect slow-moving machinery.
- Central District: Preparatory works for drainage and asphalt patching are underway in areas including Centenary Heights (Ballin Drive) and the CBD. While most heavy machinery will be idle on Sunday, traffic management infrastructure may remain in place in preparation for Monday morning closures on Campbell Street and Creek Street.
Public Health Advisory: Measles Alert
Darling Downs Health continues to urge the community to remain vigilant following a confirmed case of measles detected in the Toowoomba area. Residents should monitor for symptoms, which include high fever, cough, runny nose, and a red blotchy rash. If you or a family member suspect infection, please contact your GP or 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) before visiting a clinic to prevent further transmission.
Water Conservation and Restrictions
Toowoomba remains under permanent water conservation measures. Residents are reminded of the specific outdoor watering schedules active for Sunday, 8 February:
- Even or Unnumbered Houses: Permitted to use efficient sprinklers or hand-held hoses for one hour between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

- Exemptions: Watering of new lawns and gardens is permitted for one hour daily for the first 14 days of establishment, provided proof of purchase is maintained.
